A CONTINUUM OF LIGHT

Foundry is pleased to present A Continuum of Light, a solo exhibition by Solimar Miller, opening on 5 May 2026 at 6:30 PM in Gallery 3 at Foundry, Dubai. This new body of work brings together a series of mixed media landscapes that trace shifting environments across the UAE, moving from desert interiors to coastal mangroves.
Created on cotton and silk velvet, the works follow the quiet progression of light across the course of the day, where trees emerge as enduring anchors within an ever-changing terrain.
In A Continuum of Light, landscape is approached not as a fixed image, but as a continuous field shaped by atmosphere, material, and perception. Through nuanced and often nearly imperceptible changes in tone and luminosity, the same terrain is continually redefined. The works move between luminous, darkened, and near-white states, capturing subtle transitions rather than stable scenes.
Solimar’s use of cotton and silk velvet introduces a further layer of sensitivity to the exhibition. Each surface absorbs and reflects light differently, reinforcing the sense of fluctuation and transformation that runs through the works. These material contrasts allow the landscapes to shift in presence as they are viewed, deepening the relationship between light, surface, and spatial experience.
Throughout the exhibition, trees appear and recede within the pictorial field, registering delicate changes in visibility and atmosphere. What emerges is an experience of landscape grounded not in permanence, but in passage: between light and shadow, clarity and dissolution, presence and disappearance.

Foundry Downtown is a progressive hybrid art and co-working space located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Dubai.
