Andy Warhol’s Original Pieces Come to the UAE for the First Time

This show features 90 original works, including the iconic Marilyn Monroe portraits and rare musical memorabilia, marking the first time these pieces will be displayed in the UAE.

Curated by Nada Ghandour, “The Glam Factory” offers a comprehensive journey through Andy Warhol’s artistic evolution, featuring a curated selection of his most famous works, including the famed Marilyn Monroe portraits. The exhibition traces Warhol’s rise from a modest illustrator to a superstar of contemporary art, highlighting his systematic ambition and unique perspective.

Notable pieces as part of the collection include original musical mementos from Warhol’s illustrious network such as an autographed Michael Jackson guitar, Muhammad Ali’s heavyweight champion belt, polaroids and historic images of icons such as Liz Taylor, Diana Ross, Yoko Ono, Karl Lagerfeld, Princess Carolina of Monaco and the Beatles.

Visitors will be introduced to Andy Warhol’s early career as an illustrator, his commercial art, and the birth of his iconic status. This first part of the show delves into Warhol’s biography and artistic techniques, showcasing self-portraits and magazine covers and silk sketches that highlight his role as an innovator who embraced modernity and new technology.
