In the age of AI, machines curate how we see the world, at the level of the pixel and the token. The image no longer merely depicts the world—it makes it. This exhibition presents oil paintings and video installation by the scientist Iyad Rahwan, one of the world’s leading researchers studying the impact of AI on the human condition. The works explore how AI advances can alter our perception of history, upending the adage ‘seeing is believing.’ In a series of oil portraits, the artist also explores how machines like to portray themselves to us. The exhibition invites the viewer to question our notions of reality and agency in the age of machine intelligence.
